Sacramento, CA – Today, the Public Policy Institute of California released a statewide survey that showed strong support – 63 percent – for Prop 35, which provides ongoing funding to protect and expand access to health care for the 15 million Californians on Medi-Cal. . In response, Prop 35 executive committee member and CEO of the California Primary Care Association Francisco Silva issued the following statement:
“Prop 35 will protect and expand care for the 15 million Californians who rely on Medi-Cal for their health insurance. It will help address our most urgent health care priorities and expand access to care for all patients. We’re pleased and not surprised voters are supportive of this measure, and look forward to passing it in November.
With dedicated funding to protect and enhance our health care system, patients will have more timely access to care, emergency rooms will be less crowded and health care dollars will stay in health care.
Prop 35 also includes strong accountability provisions, ensuring that 99 percent of all revenue goes exactly where it should – to patient care.
That’s why hundreds of community clinics, Planned Parenthood, doctors, dentists, health care workers, emergency responders, hospitals, health plans, social justice organizations and local businesses have joined in support of Prop 35.”
